  A test is defined as the amount of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Product Specific Information

The 5B11 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD123, the alpha chain of the IL-3 receptor. This 60–70 kDa transmembrane protein binds IL-3 with low affinity alone, and with high affinity when associated with CD131 (common beta chain) or AIC2A (IL-3β). CD123 requires the beta chain for intracellular signal transduction.

Target Information

IL-3Ra (Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha) is part of the type I cytokine receptor family. It forms a heterodimer with the common beta (CDw131) subunit to transmit IL-3 signaling. IL-3Ra overexpression has been observed in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts compared with normal hematopoietic cells, making it a potential therapeutic target.
