The gamma-Tubulin complex consists of gamma Tubulin and associated proteins GCP2–GCP6, which are essential for microtubule organizing centers. These components localize to the centrosome for microtubule nucleation and exist as soluble complexes in the cytoplasm.
GCP3 (gamma-tubulin complex component 3), also known as TUBGCP3 or SPBC98, is a 907-amino acid protein ubiquitously expressed and localized to the centrosome, contributing to the gamma-Tubulin complex function.
