Phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC)는 수용체 매개 신호전달의 초기 단계에서 중요한 역할을 하며, phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate로부터 inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate 및 diacylglycerol을 생성하는 효소입니다.
PLC에는 다양한 동형체가 존재하며, PLCβ1, PLCβ2, PLCβ3, PLCβ4, PLCγ1, PLCγ2, PLCδ1, PLCδ2, PLCε 등이 포함됩니다.
PLCδ1은 칼슘 신호 증폭기로서 GTP 결합 단백질에 의해 활성화되며, 뇌, 심장, 폐, 고환에 높은 발현을 보입니다. 또한 알츠하이머병(AD) 환자의 뇌에서 비정상적으로 축적되어 병리적 역할이 제시되었습니다.
PLCδ2는 위선암 및 장상피화생에서 강하게 발현되며, 종양성 변화를 예측할 수 있는 잠재적 바이오마커로 보고됩니다.
