Target Information
RBP4 단백질은 리포칼린(lipocalin) 계열에 속하며, 혈액 내에서 레티놀(retinol)의 운반체 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 간의 저장소로부터 말초 조직으로 레티놀을 전달합니다. 혈장에서 RBP-retinol 복합체는 트랜스티레틴(transthyretin)과 상호작용하여 신장 사구체를 통한 손실을 방지합니다. 비타민 A 결핍 시 결합 단백질의 분비가 번역 후(post-translational) 단계에서 차단되어 표피 세포로의 전달이 저해됩니다.
