- In direct ELISAs, less than 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse ACE is observed.
- Less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human ACE-2 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
This gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of angiotensin I into angiotensin II, a potent vasopressor and aldosterone-stimulating peptide that regulates blood pressure and fluid-electrolyte balance.
It plays a key role in the renin-angiotensin system.
Studies have associated the presence or absence of a 287 bp Alu repeat element with enzyme levels and cardiovascular pathophysiologies.
Two major alternatively spliced variants encode somatic and testicular isozymes, both active.
Additional variants have been identified, though their full length is undetermined.
