Product Specific Information
- PA1-18301 detects Arg3.1 from mouse and rat samples.
- Successfully used in immunohistochemistry procedures.
- Immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal residues of human Arg3.1, conjugated to Blue Carrier Protein. The sequence is 100% conserved in mouse and rat.
- After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20ºC (avoid freeze/thaw cycles) or at 4ºC with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
- Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability.
- Reconstitute with 100 µL of distilled water.
Target Information
Arg3.1 (ARC) is a master regulator of synaptic plasticity that self-assembles into virion-like capsids, encapsulating RNAs and mediating intercellular RNA transfer in the nervous system. ARC protein is released from neurons in extracellular vesicles, transferring ARC mRNA into target cells for activity-dependent translation.
It acts as a key regulator of synaptic plasticity, required for protein synthesis-dependent long-term potentiation (LTP), long-term depression (LTD), and long-term memory formation.
ARC promotes endocytosis of AMPA receptors (AMPARs) in response to synaptic activity, maintaining neuronal homeostasis through synaptic scaling.
It mediates activity-dependent synapse elimination in the developing cerebellum and is involved in postsynaptic trafficking of amyloid-beta A4 (APP) via interaction with PSEN1.
Additionally, ARC is expressed in skin-migratory dendritic cells and regulates fast dendritic cell migration, influencing T-cell activation.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
