Specificity: This antibody recognises CD41 antigen.
Target Information
CD41 (platelet glycoprotein IIb, ITGA2B) consists of two subunits (120 kDa α and 23 kDa β) that interact with CD61 in the presence of calcium to form a functional adhesive protein receptor. CD41 participates in blood coagulation by mediating platelet aggregation. Upon vascular injury, CD41 binds to von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, fibronectin, and vitronectin. It is mainly expressed on the megakaryocyte-platelet lineage and is also found during early hematopoietic differentiation. CD41 dysfunction is associated with Glanzmann Thrombasthenia and Platelet type-16 bleeding disorder.
