Human Rad18 (hRad18)는 효모 S. pombe의 Rad18과 상동체이며, DNA 복제 손상 후의 수선 과정에서 Rad6과 함께 중요한 역할을 합니다.
Rad18-Rad6 복합체는 손상 부위에 결합하여 DNA 복제의 정체된 구성 요소를 제거하는 데 관여합니다.
인간 RAD18 유전자는 염색체 3p24-25에 위치하며, 다양한 암(폐, 유방, 난소, 고환)에서 결실이 보고되었습니다.
RAD18 단백질은 495개의 아미노산으로 구성되어 있으며, 예측 분자량은 약 56 kDa입니다.
인간 조직 전반에 걸쳐 발현됩니다.
