Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the isomerization of mannose 6-phosphate to mannose 1-phosphate, a precursor to GDP-mannose required for dolichol-P-oligosaccharide synthesis.
Mutations in this gene can cause defects in glycoprotein biosynthesis, leading to carbohydrate-deficient glycoprotein syndrome type I.
