Target Information

DKK-1은 DKK 단백질 패밀리(DKK-2, DKK-3, DKK-4 포함)의 구성원으로, 원래 Xenopus의 머리 형성 인자로 확인되었으며 Wnt 신호의 길항제로 작용합니다.
DKK-1 및 DKK-4는 Wnt/β-catenin 신호 경로에서 LDL 수용체 관련 단백질(LRP5, LRP6)과 억제 복합체를 형성하여 신호 조절 역할을 합니다.
이 경로는 척추동물의 후방 패터닝에 필수적이며, DKK-1은 이를 억제함으로써 전방 발달을 가능하게 합니다.
DKK-1 결핍 생쥐는 머리 형성이 결여되어 배아 발생 중 사망하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
