Description:
The RL73 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD147 (Basigin). CD147 is expressed on most thymocytes, activated peripheral T cells, erythrocytes, and erythroblasts. Its expression correlates with cycling of immature thymocytes and may inhibit their maturation into T cells when ligated.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and immunoprecipitation.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse thymic cells. Recommended ≤0.5 µg per test (in 100 µL final volume). Optimal titration is recommended for specific assay conditions.

Target Information

CD147 (Basigin) — also known as Neurothelin, OX-47, 5A11, CE9, M6, EMMPRIN, or TCSF — is a 50–60 kDa glycoprotein with multiple glycosylated forms. It is a plasma membrane protein involved in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation, and tumor progression. CD147 is part of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is highly expressed in metabolically active cells such as lymphoblasts, inflammatory cells, brown adipocytes, and malignant tumor cells. It facilitates monocarboxylate transporter expression, extracellular matrix metalloproteinase induction, and regulates integrin functions, contributing to cell development, activation, and retinal function.
