Target Information
Visfatin, also known as pre-B cell colony-enhancing factor, is an adipocytokine secreted by visceral adipose tissue. It exhibits insulin-mimetic effects by binding to the insulin receptor, reducing hepatic glucose release, and enhancing glucose utilization in adipocytes and myocytes. Visfatin is involved in cell proliferation, nicotinamide mononucleotide and dinucleotide biosynthesis, and glucose homeostasis.
