Target Information
The platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) family consists of disulfide-linked dimeric proteins PDGF-AA, -BB, -CC, -DD, and -AB.
PDGF-AA, -BB, and -AB bind to alpha-type receptors, while beta-type receptors bind to PDGF-BB and PDGF-AB.
Activation by PDGF leads to receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation on cytosolic domains, triggering PI3K-mediated signaling pathways.
All PDGF isoforms are synthesized as inactive precursors and processed into active forms.
