S1P1은 생리활성 리소스핑고지질인 sphingosine 1-phosphate(S1P)의 G-단백질 결합 수용체로, G(i) subclass에 결합합니다.
S1P1 신호전달은 RAC1, SRC, PTK2/FAK1 및 MAP kinase의 활성화를 유도하며, actin 세포골격 재구성과 lamellipodia 형성에 관여합니다.
또한 sphingosine kinase SPHK1 활성 증가에 따른 세포 이동 반응에서 중요한 역할을 하며, 정상적인 심장 발생과 형태형성에도 필수적입니다.
