Apolipoprotein E (ApoE)는 혈장 내 지질 대사에 중요한 역할을 하며, 다양한 지질단백질 입자의 구성 성분입니다. 이 단백질은 간, 뇌, 비장, 신장에서 합성되며, 세포 간 콜레스테롤 이동에 관여합니다. 또한 매우 낮은 밀도의 지단백(VLDL) 및 킬로미크론 형성에도 중요한 역할을 합니다. ApoE 유전자는 염색체 19의 19q13.2 위치에 존재합니다.
