Product Specific Information
This SL-12 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Interferon Regulatory Factor (IRF)-3.
IRF-3 is a 427 amino acid transcription factor that plays a critical role in the induction of type I interferons. Inactive IRF-3 shuttles between cytoplasm and nucleus; upon viral or dsRNA stimulation, phosphorylation by IKKε and TBK-1 retains IRF-3 in the nucleus, leading to transcription of IFN-β, ISGs, and other antiviral genes.
- Applications Reported: Immunoblotting (WB)
- Applications Tested: Immunoblot of human peripheral blood cell lysates (≤2 µg/mL recommended)
- Purity: >90% (SDS-PAGE)
- Aggregation: <10% (HPLC)
- Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
IRF3 (Interferon Regulatory Factor 3) is a key transcriptional regulator of type I interferon (IFN)-dependent immune responses.
It regulates IFN-α and IFN-β gene transcription by binding to ISRE elements in promoters and acts as a potent activator of IFN-β. IRF3 is cytoplasmic in its inactive form and becomes phosphorylated by IKBKE and TBK1 upon viral infection or dsRNA signaling, leading to dimerization, nuclear localization, and activation of IFN and ISG genes.
Mutations in IRF3 can cause acute infection-induced encephalopathy.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
