Product Specific Information
The STA monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD106 (Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1, VCAM-1), a 110 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by myeloid lineage and bone marrow stromal cells. Endothelial cells constitutively express low levels of CD106 and upregulate it upon cytokine stimulation. CD106 binds to Integrin α4β1 (VLA-4, CD49d/CD29) and Integrin α4β7 (LPAM-1). Cytokine-mediated upregulation of CD106 on endothelial cells suggests a role for this antigen in inflammatory response.
Applications Reported:
This STA antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of stimulated HUVEC. Recommended usage is 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may vary from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.
Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.
Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-822-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54) for up to 3 days in the dark at 4°C with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency/compensation.
Excitation / Emission / Laser:
488–561 nm excitation; 775 nm emission; compatible with Blue, Green, and Yellow-Green lasers.
Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

VCAM-1 is a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium. It regulates leukocyte migration, leukocyte-endothelial adhesion, and signal transduction, and may play roles in inflammatory diseases.
