Cytochrome P450 4A22 (CYP4A22) belongs to the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. These monooxygenases catalyze various reactions involved in drug metabolism and the synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids. The CYP4A22 gene is located within a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 1p33.
