Target Information
EB1 family proteins are evolutionarily conserved proteins that bind microtubule plus-ends and centrosomes, regulating microtubule dynamics and organization.
The MAPRE genes encode EB1 family proteins, including MAPRE1 (EB1), MAPRE2 (RP1), and MAPRE3 (EBF3).
EB1 family members are ubiquitously expressed. The EB1 (MAPRE1) gene, located at 20q11.2, is fused to MLL in an adult patient with pro-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
EB1 interacts with the APC tumor-suppressor protein and plays critical roles in microtubule dynamics, cell polarity, and chromosome stability.
