Target Information
This gene encodes a GTPase-activating protein that is a member of the rhoGAP family of proteins, which regulate small GTP-binding proteins. GAP family proteins participate in signaling pathways that control cytoskeletal dynamics. This gene acts as a tumor suppressor in several cancers, including prostate, lung, colorectal, and breast cancers. Multiple transcript variants exist due to alternative promoters and splicing.
