AKR1C3는 prostaglandin D2, PGH2, phenanthrenequinone(PQ)의 환원 반응과 9-alpha,11-beta-PGF2의 산화 반응을 촉매합니다.
천식 등 알레르기 질환의 병태생리에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있으며, 세포 성장 및 분화 조절에도 관여할 수 있습니다.
