Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
Suggested positive control: normal breast or breast carcinoma.

SMAD3 belongs to the SMAD family of proteins, similar to the gene products of the Drosophila mothers against decapentaplegic (Mad) and the C. elegans gene Sma.
SMAD proteins act as signal transducers and transcriptional modulators mediating multiple signaling pathways.
SMAD3 functions as a transcriptional modulator activated by transforming growth factor-beta and may play a role in carcinogenesis regulation.
