Product Specific Information
The eBio1D3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells during all developmental stages except terminal plasma cells. CD19 associates with CD21, CD81, and MHC class II forming a complex with the BCR, mediating tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistology of frozen tissue sections.
Functional Assay: Induces down-regulation of CD19, affecting B-1a and B-2 B cell proportions in mice.
For functional assays, use Functional Grade purified eBio1D3 (1D3) (Product #16-0193).
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes, ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize antibody titration for best assay performance.

Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains, expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells. It is also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR), regulating B cell activation and proliferation. Mutations cause hypogammaglobulinemia; overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
