Description:
The 6OMP31 monoclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat CD19. CD19 is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed by B cells during all stages of development except on terminally differentiated plasma cells. It also appears on follicular dendritic cells.

CD19 acts as a B cell co-receptor and forms a complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II that associates with the B cell receptor (BCR). It plays a key role in B cell development, activation, and proliferation. CD19 deficiency leads to impaired humoral immune response, while mutations are linked to immunodeficiency syndromes. CD19 is expressed on most B cell tumors, including acute lymphoblastic leukemias and B cell lymphomas. Therapeutic applications targeting CD19 are being explored for lymphoma, leukemia, and autoimmune disorders.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and may also appear on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying co-receptor for the B cell receptor (BCR), regulating B cell proliferation and differentiation. Mutations in CD19 lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression causes B cell hyperactivity.
