QSER1과 PRRG4 유전자 사이의 SNP는 파킨슨병과의 연관성이 제기된 바 있습니다.
이 유전자는 인간을 포함하여 침팬지, 개, 소, 생쥐, 쥐, 닭, 제브라피시에 보존되어 있으며, 인간 염색체 11p13에 위치합니다.
염색체 11은 약 1억 3천 5백만 염기쌍과 1,400개의 유전자를 포함하며, 여러 질환 관련 유전자가 밀집된 영역으로 알려져 있습니다.
관련 질환으로는 Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome, Jacobsen syndrome, Niemann-Pick disease, hereditary angioedema, Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome 등이 있습니다.
