Target Information
QSER1 (glutamine and serine-rich protein 1) is a 1,735 amino acid protein phosphorylated upon DNA damage, likely by Atm or ATR.
A SNP near the QSER1 and PRRG4 genes on chromosome 11 has been associated with Parkinson’s disease.
QSER1 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms and is conserved across species including chimpanzee, canine, bovine, mouse, rat, chicken, and zebrafish.
It maps to human chromosome 11p13, a region rich in gene-disease associations such as Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome, Jacobsen syndrome, Niemann-Pick disease, hereditary angioedema, and Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome.
