Target Information
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are secreted signaling molecules that induce ectopic bone growth. Many BMPs belong to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) superfamily. BMPs were first identified by their ability to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo. BMP7 plays a role in early embryonic development and may have bone inductive activity similar to BMP5 and BMP6.
