Target Information
CCR4-NOT Transcription Complex 2 (CNOT2) is a component of the CCR4-NOT complex, one of the major cellular mRNA deadenylases. It is involved in various cellular processes including mRNA degradation, miRNA-mediated repression, translational repression during initiation, and general transcription regulation.
CNOT2 is essential for the structural integrity of the CCR4-NOT complex and may link it to transcriptional regulation, possibly through interactions with the N-Cor repressor complex (HDAC3, NCOR1, NCOR2).
It also plays a role in maintaining embryonic stem cell identity. (UniProt)
