This antibody does not cross-react with other cyclin-dependent kinases. Store as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening vial.
Target Information
CDK9 is a serine/threonine kinase that forms an active holoenzyme complex with CyclinT1, playing a key role in regulating the eukaryotic cell cycle.
It regulates cytokine-inducible transcription networks by facilitating promoter recognition of transcription factors and promotes RNA synthesis in genetic programs for cell growth, differentiation, and viral pathogenesis.
The CDK9/cyclin-K complex also has kinase activity towards CTD of RNAPII and can substitute for CDK9/cyclin-T P-TEFb in vitro.
Chronic activation of CDK9 causes cardiac myocyte enlargement leading to cardiac hypertrophy and predisposition to heart failure.
