CD42b는 혈소판 활성화 표지자로, 응고 과정에서 응집 인자로 작용합니다.
이 단백질은 세포외 기질 및 부착 분자와 상호작용하며, VEGF 및 PDGF에 의해 발현과 활성화가 조절됩니다.
CD42b는 GPIbβ, GPIX, GPV와 함께 GPIb-IX-V 수용체 복합체를 구성하여 혈소판이 혈전 표면에 부착되는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다.
또한 손상된 혈관 부위에 노출된 von Willebrand factor(VWF), thrombin, 응고 인자 XI 및 XII, 고분자 키니노겐, TSP-1, integrin Mac-1, P-selectin 등에 결합합니다.
CD42b의 세포외 도메인은 전이 과정에도 기여하며, 골수 내 거대핵세포와 혈소판에서 발현됩니다.
CD42b 유전자의 일부 다형성과 변이는 Bernard-Soulier 증후군 및 혈소판형 von Willebrand 질환의 원인으로 알려져 있습니다.
