Target Information

Post Synaptic Density 95 kDa (PSD-95), also known as synapse-associated protein 90 kDa (SAP90), is a membrane-associated protein found in the postsynaptic density of forebrain neurons and in certain presynaptic structures of the cerebellum.
PSD-95 contains three PDZ domains, followed by an SH3 domain and a guanylate kinase homology (GuK) domain. It is involved in clustering of proteins such as NMDA receptors and Shaker-type potassium channels at the synaptic membrane in CNS neurons.
PSD-95 interacts with other proteins via two main modes: through PDZ domain binding to C-terminal T/SXV motifs and via PDZ–PDZ interactions, such as with neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS).
