Product Specific Information

Description:
The sym0F1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and mouse c-Maf, a 42 kDa basic leucine zipper transcription factor involved in neural, ocular, and hematopoietic systems. In hematopoietic cells, c-Maf is crucial for IL-4 expression in Th2 cells and plays a role in Th17 and Tfh differentiation by regulating IL-21, IL-23R, and CXCR5 expression.

Applications Reported:
For intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-diluted and validated using mouse splenocytes and the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00). Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
Brilliant Violet™ 480 (BV480) emits at 479 nm and is compatible with cytometers equipped with a 405 nm violet laser. Use Brilliant Stain Buffer™ or Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer to minimize polymer dye interactions.
Not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information

c-Maf is a basic leucine zipper transcription factor involved in Th2 differentiation, IL-10 expression, and lineage-specific hematopoiesis. It binds to Maf recognition elements (MARE) and regulates genes such as IL-4, insulin, and p53. Aberrations in maf are associated with multiple myeloma and expressed in myeloma cell lines and macrophages.
