This antibody recognizes the extracellular portion of CD158d / KIR2DL4, a 45 kDa NK cell marker.
Cell surface expression and function of CD158d / KIR2DL4 depend on the genotype of individual donors.
Target Information
CD158d / KIR2DL4 is a KIR family member sharing structural features of both activating and inhibitory receptors.
It contains a cytoplasmic ITIM domain (suggesting inhibitory function) and a transmembrane domain similar to activating KIRs.
CD158d acts as an inhibitory receptor for peripheral and uterine NK cells, but ligation with soluble mAbs can induce IFN-gamma secretion.
It binds both membrane-bound and soluble forms of its ligand, HLA-G.
