PIK3C3 (hVPS34)는 PI3 Kinase 계열의 유일한 class III 멤버로, phosphatidylinositol (PI)을 인산화하여 phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate [PI(3)P]를 생성합니다. 이는 FYVE 및 Phox 도메인을 포함하는 하위 효과기들을 막으로 유도합니다.
PIK3C3는 mTOR과의 영양 신호 결합, 자가포식 및 세포내 수송 과정에 관여하며, 분해성 엔도사이토시스 경로 조절 및 세포분열 시 cytokinesis 단계에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한 lysosomal enzyme precursor의 수송에도 필수적입니다.
