Product Specific Information

Description:
The eBioMM17F3 antibody is a mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibody that specifically reacts with mouse IL-17A and functions as a neutralizing antibody. It does not cross-react with other IL-17 family members (IL-17B, C, D, E, F). IL-17A is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.

IL-17A enhances expression of ICAM-1 in fibroblasts and stimulates various cells (epithelial, endothelial, fibroblastic) to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2. It also supports proliferation of CD34+ progenitors and neutrophil maturation. IL-23-dependent Th17 cells producing IL-17A represent a distinct T helper subset regulated by IFN-γ and IL-4.

In vitro, 8.0 ng/mL of this antibody neutralizes 50% of the biological effect of 5.0 ng/mL mouse IL-17A in an IL-6 secretion assay using NIH/3T3 cells.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
It exists as a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer and signals through IL-17R (CDw217). IL-17A induces expression of ICAM-1, IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, PGE2, and nitric oxide, regulating NF-κB and MAPK pathways.
