The eBio17CK15A5 antibody reacts with mouse and rat IL-17A.
Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) is a CD4⁺ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.

Human IL-17A exists as glycosylated 20–30 kDa homodimers and enhances expression of intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) in human fibroblasts. It also stimulates epithelial, endothelial, or fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
IL-17A-producing CD4⁺ T cells (Th17 cells) develop via a pathway distinct from Th1 and Th2 differentiation, and IFN-γ and IL-4 negatively regulate Th17 generation.

Applications Reported: Useful for mouse IL-17A ELISA and ELISPOT capture.
Applications Tested: Verified by LAL assay for low endotoxin level; tested for mouse IL-17A ELISPOT and ELISA capture.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4⁺ T cell-derived cytokine involved in inflammatory responses and elevated in autoimmune diseases.
IL-17A is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer of 136 amino acids, part of the IL-17A–F family, signaling through IL-17R/CDw217.
It enhances ICAM-1 expression and induces secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2, supporting proliferation and maturation of CD34⁺ hematopoietic progenitors.
IL-17A regulates NF-κB and MAPK activities, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and promotes nitric oxide (NO) production.
