The monoclonal antibody 18H10 reacts with MD-2, but not with sMD-2. It can inhibit bacterial binding to MD-2.
Target Information
MD-2 encodes a protein involved in recognition of bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS) by the immune system. Located on chromosome 8, it forms a complex with Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) to trigger immune responses. Variations in MD-2 are associated with sepsis and inflammatory disorders.
