- MA1-5766 detects Cytokeratin K10-1 (AE20) in human samples.
- MA1-5766 has been successfully used in Western blot and immunohistochemistry procedures.

Target Information
Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filaments of epithelial cells, found in both keratinizing tissues (e.g., skin) and non-keratinizing cells (e.g., mesothelial cells). Although not typical endothelial markers, some microvascular endothelial cells also express cytokeratins.
There are at least 20 cytokeratin types (40–70 kDa, pI 5–8.5) identifiable by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Cytokeratins are divided into two main classes:
- Type I: acidic polypeptides
- Type II: basic polypeptides
Each epithelial cell expresses at least one member from each class. Monoclonal antibodies against cytokeratin proteins are valuable tools for tumor identification and classification.
