MA1-5765 detects Cytokeratin AE13 in human and mouse samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry procedures.
The immunogen is human hair keratins.
This antibody reacts with acidic 44–46 kDa hair cortex keratins.
Target Information
Cytokeratins are a group comprising at least 29 different proteins characteristic of epithelial and trichocytic cells.
Cytokeratin 5, 6, and 8 belong to the type II neutral-to-basic subfamily.
Monoclonal antibodies to cytokeratins serve as specific markers of epithelial cell differentiation and are widely used for tumor identification and classification.
They facilitate the typing of normal, metaplastic, and neoplastic cells and aid in distinguishing carcinomas from non-epithelial tumors such as sarcomas, lymphomas, and neural tumors.
They are also useful for detecting micro-metastases in lymph nodes and other tissues and determining the origin of poorly differentiated tumors.
