Product Specific Information
This antibody is specific for human CD73, a 70 kDa GPI-linked 5'-nucleotidase. It does not show cross-reactivity with mouse CD73.
Target Information
CD73 (Ecto-5'-nucleotidase, 5'-ribonucleotide phosphohydrolase) catalyzes the conversion of purine 5'-mononucleotides to nucleosides at neutral pH, primarily AMP.
It forms a dimer of two identical 70 kDa subunits bound to the plasma membrane via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI) linkage.
CD73 serves as a marker for lymphocyte differentiation, and its deficiency is associated with various immunodeficiency disorders.
Other forms of 5'-nucleotidase exist in the cytoplasm and lysosomes and differ in substrate affinity, magnesium ion requirement, ATP activation, and phosphate inhibition.
The CD73 gene is localized to chromosome 6q14-q21. Mutations can lead to joint and arterial calcification and intestinal tuberculosis.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms of CD73 have been identified.
