Target Information
STING (TMEM173) is a 379 amino acid signaling protein essential for innate immune signaling. It activates NF-κB and IRF3 transcription pathways, inducing type I interferons (IFN-α, IFN-β) and promoting antiviral responses.
STING may function in translocon activity, influence type I interferon induction, and mediate apoptotic signaling through MHC-II interactions. It is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane and is ubiquitously expressed across tissues.
