Target Information
Tau는 신경세포의 축삭에서 주로 발견되는 미세소관 결합 단백질로, 튜불린 중합화를 촉진하고 미세소관을 안정화합니다.
C-말단은 축삭 미세소관에, N-말단은 신경 세포막 구성요소에 결합하여 연결 단백질로 작용합니다.
Tau의 과인산화 형태는 알츠하이머병(AD) 뇌의 신경섬유 엉킴(neurofibrillary tangles)을 구성하는 주요 성분으로, 미세소관 결합 기능을 저해하여 신경세포 퇴화를 유발합니다.
다양한 세린/트레오닌 키나아제(GSK-3β, PKA, cdk5, casein kinase II 등)가 Tau를 인산화합니다.
과인산화 Tau는 알츠하이머병 외에도 Pick병, 전두측두엽 치매, corticobasal degeneration, progressive supranuclear palsy 등 다양한 중추신경계 질환에서 발견됩니다.
