Product Specific Information

  • 1 µg/mL of MA5-27698 detects Beta 3 GABA receptor in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
  • Detects approximately 55 kDa.
  • No cross-reactivity with GABA-A receptor Beta 1 or Beta 2.

Target Information

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. It is produced by decarboxylation of glutamate and acts through GABA-A and GABA-B receptors.
Binding of GABA to GABA-A receptors increases chloride ion influx into neurons, leading to reduced neuronal excitability.
Deficiency in GABA-mediated signaling can result in seizures, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders.
