Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-27690 was sufficient for detection of mGluR1/5 glutamate receptor in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 130 kDa (mGluR1 and mGluR5).
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S75-33.
Target Information
GRK1 is a member of the G protein receptor kinase subfamily of Serine/Threonine kinase family. It phosphorylates rhodopsin, initiating its deactivation. G protein-mediated phosphorylation promotes arrestin binding, terminating receptor signaling. GRK1 is farnesylated for membrane association and inhibited by recoverin, a calcium-binding protein.
Diseases associated with GRK1 dysfunction include Oguchi Disease-2 and Hereditary Night Blindness.
