Product Specific Information

The 53-7.3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by a majority of thymocytes, mature T cells, and a subset of B cells. CD5 expression by a small subset of B cells characterizes a distinct lineage called B-1 cells. CD5 acts as a counter-receptor for CD72 and plays a role in T-B cell interaction.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.

eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®. Emits at 445 nm, excited at 405 nm (Violet laser). Ensure instrument compatibility.
Excitation: 405 nm; Emission: 445 nm; Laser: Violet.

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein found on mature T-lymphocytes, thymocytes, and subsets of B-cells. It regulates T-cell proliferation and is expressed in many T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. Associated diseases include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
