Product Specific Information

Description:
The 53-2.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90.2 (Thy-1.2), a GPI-linked membrane molecule expressed by mouse thymocytes, mature T cells, and neurons in CD90.2-expressing strains (e.g., BALB/c, CBA, C3H, C57BL/6, C58, SJL). Cells from CD90.1-expressing strains (e.g., PL, AKR) do not stain with 53-2.1. CD90 is involved in T-cell adhesion and signal transduction.

Applications Reported:
Flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometry of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.015 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended for each assay.

Fluorochrome Information:
eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®, excited at 405 nm and emits at 445 nm (Violet laser). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD90.2 (Thy-1) is a GPI-linked glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer cells, fibroblasts, and tumor endothelial cell lines. Plays roles in cell-cell interactions and synaptogenesis. In mice, CD90.2 is found on all thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes.
