This antibody detects endogenous levels of total BCAM / CD239 protein.
Target Information
Lutheran blood group glycoprotein (BCAM/CD239) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and acts as a receptor for the extracellular matrix protein laminin. It contains five N-terminal extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a single transmembrane domain, and a short C-terminal cytoplasmic tail. This protein may be involved in epithelial cell cancer and vaso-occlusion of red blood cells in sickle cell disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
