Target Information
The T-box (Tbx) motif is present in a family of genes involved in developmental gene regulation. Tbx genes are conserved across metazoan species and encode transcription factors with a unique DNA-binding domain. They play crucial roles in developmental processes such as germ layer formation and central nervous system patterning. Mutations in Tbx genes are linked to various human diseases. Functional insights mainly derive from the prototypical T/Brachyury, a transcription activator.
