Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity purified antibody is directed against human HEY1. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with mouse (100% homology) and dog/cattle (91.7% homology) based on the immunizing sequence.
Target Information
Hairy/enhancer-of-split related with YRPW motif protein 1 (HEY1) belongs to the HEY family and is a Notch Signaling Pathway Protein. It contains one basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain and one Orange domain. It acts as a downstream effector of Notch signaling, potentially required for cardiovascular development. HEY1 functions as a transcriptional repressor binding preferentially to the canonical E-box sequence 5'-CACGTG-3', repressing transcription by cardiac activators GATA4 and GATA6. It is also expressed during nervous system development.
