Target Information

The 6xHis tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
His tags are commonly fused to recombinant proteins at the N- or C-terminus to enable purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
Epitope tagging allows detection of recombinant proteins lacking specific antibodies.
His-tagged proteins bind strongly to Ni²⁺ through histidine residues, enabling efficient purification using Ni²⁺-NTA adsorbents.
His tag-specific antibodies facilitate detection and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
